A rose by any other name..............
by sparrowdown ini'm curious, why and how did you choose your username?.
does it hold any special significance for you, is there a share-able back story?.
for me sparrowdown is a playful reference to matt 10:29 and the title of the movie black hawk down.. matt 10:29 was my go-to scrip to "prove" that god cares about us as individuals.

How Have You Changed Much In Attitude & Actions Since Leaving The Witnesses?

yes i am pretty much open to anyone having their own lifestyle and beliefs as long as it doesnt hurt anyone else. but it feels very strange- it still goes against the grain to feel this way. i saw a gay couple the other day holding hands. my first inner reaction was the jw one. but then i realized that theyre happy, nice people and who the hell am i to judge them? so yes i personally am becoming less judgemental. i do struggle though with being as friendly with people as i would like, simply because im still dealing with a lot of anger with the wtbts. and it comes through sometimes when i dont want it to. i dont really do anything much different though. watched a few R movies and smoked some cigars, but nothing too crazy...i think i'll probably always be a pretty moderate person at this point....

Finally some good news for JWs from science!
by Pinku innow jws can ask: what is the big deal about bringing changes in teaching!
did not such a great scientist, stephen hawking, create ripples by saying that his most famous discovery of black holes did not actually exist, after all?
and hawking is only a tip of the ice-berg!

hawking never said that black holes dont exist. his words were taken out of context, fyi. check it out online please

The More I Think, The More I Lose Faith In BIBLE!!
by NoMoreHustle insitting through this weeks wt study.
paragraph came up about how "a fire came out from jah & consumed (korah and) the 250 men offering the incense".
i said to myself this supposedly happened couple of thousand years ago.

Elders pretty much do whatever they want!
by toto555 ini've seen elders over the years openly flaunt "the rules", butt-kiss (the co especially), show favoritism and appoint brothers they like and not appoint brothers that should of been appointed for some trivial reason.
many lord their "power" over the friends in blatant violation of scriptures and watchowers that specifically say that they shouldn't lord themselves over the flock.
they pretty much do what they want!

its absolutely positively true. i saw firsthand how much politics and BS is going on behind closed doors. being an elder for a short while really played a role in my waking up because i saw this happen. that "1o" hrs a month thing is such bull crap too, it used to make me angry when the body would use that number like a magical number. they soooo miss the point of SERVING the cong

Anyone else notice the new Terms of Use on jw.org?
by leaving_quietly ini first noticed it today... slides up at the bottom.
i wonder why they felt the need to do this?
this is just silly for a religious website..

hold up- they can tell what sites youve been too before going on jw.org and logging in? i was bouncing around apostate sites then logging in as an elder and downloading tons of letters to the BOE haha maybe thats why they deleted my access after a few days of that! wow

Copy of my DA Letter
by airborne inthis is my first time posting here, although i have been a visitor to it for around a year.
after doing a simple google search under "jehovah'switnesses" over a year ago, i found ttat.
i was deeply unhappy with the congregation and decided to educate myself, and boy what an education i have gotten so far.

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?
by Quarterback insome may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.

personally i think theyll adjust the blood doctrine before shunning. its simply too powerful of a tool and way too dangerous for the average jw to have contact with mentally deseased people

Heavy metal
by Godsendconspirator ini have always loved heavy metal music (thrash metal to be more specific).
since heavy metal is usually associated with satan and occult themes many christians and jws in particular stray away from it.
in my teenagehood i was listened to it obsessively until i started studying and got baptized at age 18 and i started listening to other genres.

hell ya i love old metallica, pantera, and newer stuff too, like as i lay dying and darkest hour. listened to all that even as an elder! rock on my friend haha
